Observations about driving a 21st Century electric car from a quantitative, technical perspective

Heater power consumption at lowest setting
One hour twenty five minutes of only heater use with lowest fan and lowest heat setting consumed 4% of charge. The cabin temperature went from 47 degrees F to 64.
I work in the class 8 heavy truck industry. We design and verify the embedded systems (computers modules) that run everything these days.
We relocated to North Carolina in Mid 2010 and were not allowed to renew our lease of the all electric Mini E. We now own two "Think City EV" cars and sold our gas cars.
I am watching the developments in upcoming electric cars but so far I am very disappointed that none of the affordable early offerings even come close to the 12 kW built in charger that the Mini E has.
